You know how subatomic particles don’t obey physical laws?  They act according to change, chaos, coincidence.  They run into each other in the middle of the universe somewhere and bang!  Energy!  We’re the same as that.  That’s the great thing about the universe: unpredictable.  That’s why it’s so much fun.

Can I just take a second to say what an incredibly fantastic actor Joe Gilgun has turned out to be? Regardless of whether you like his character, or if you resent him for replacing Nathan, can we just stop for a second and appreciate the man’s talent? Honestly, when I’m watching the show sometimes I forget that both pieces of the Rudy are the same person in reality, because he plays each one so perfectly different. The mannerisms, the facial expressions— each one has their own little tick (Mean Rudy does all of these scrunched up faces and Nice Rudy tugs at and plays with his clothes a lot)— they’re two completely different people and Joe could not be doing a better job at convincing me of this. I think that’s why when Mean Rudy starts to show his real self it was so fantastic in my mind, because suddenly he starts to make faces and such that Nice Rudy makes (see the last photo in the above set) and you can see the two sort of coming together and it brings back the idea that the two Rudys really are one person.
